An interesting week on the Glenn Beck show (Fox News). He is talking about Hungarian Billionaire George Soros. It seems that Soros has a god complex . . . no really. And his favorite pass time is destroying governments. What a combination! The scary part is that he has developed a system which works. . . he has used it on several countries already with great success.

Now we are seeing the same type of patterns in the United States. If I were a betting man, I would bet a buck that he is trying to destroy our government. And if I were an escatalogical fanatic, I might even be screaming that he is the beast of Revelation. Not the anti-Christ . . . Obama has that title already. But the beast who stands behind the anti-Christ and pulls the strings. But, that sounds a little too religio-crazy for me.

The government is devaluing the dollar . . . a lot. This is going to cause HUGE inflation. And this year we have had crappy crops. Commodities prices are way up and that means that food prices are going to go up all by themselves, inflation notwithstanding.

On the income side of things, unemployment is not dropping and therefore the government is not getting as much in tax revenue. They are looking to cut expenses and that means that if I get to keep my job, I will probably have to take a pay cut.

See the problem here? Prices up, income down. This is not a good economic environment. I am not sure how we will survive.

To top it all off, we are expecting MAJOR solar storms in the next year or two. We are talking solar storms that may take out the power grids across the country/world. If that happens it will take months--maybe years to get electricity back.

God help us all.

Yesterday's elections are over. It was historic indeed--Republicans gained more than 60 seats in the House of Representatives and 6 or more seats in the Senate. The final numbers will be days or weeks away, but the bottom line is that Republicans now have an overwhelming majority in the House and Democrats have a slim majority in the Senate. It will be an interesting two years.
Hardin County has shown itself to be completely asleep. There was a 30 percent voter turnout. We voted for Republican Rand Paul for Senate and Republican Harry Berry for Judge Executive. But in every other race, the Democrats won easily. Bipolar Kentuckians.

On the body front, I have had a persistent cough for a couple of months. It started when an inmate named Burt came to our unit. He had a severe "cold" which included this cough. It spread quickly among the inmates...they began calling it "the Burt". At length, I caught the Burt. The fever only lasted a couple of days. The head cold part cleared up after a couple of weeks. But I still have this damned cough. Bronchitis? Something worse? We shall see.
